Sturrock: Will buy new players

Luggy eyes up Elliot Benyon!

The rumour mill is stoking up nicely with stories of up to four players on the shopping list, definitly one or two strikers, but will anybody have to go?

Yes, time for the club 'source' again telling www.echo-news.co.uk: “The club are fully aware that signing a striker remains a priority and they're working very hard on that already so something can be down towards the start of January. They've been talking to a number of clubs, agents and players and are confident of something happening quite soon.”

And in the latest update Blues boss Paul Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk Friday that: "The transfer window will open again on Monday and I’d like to think we’d have someone in before the game against Dagenham and Redbridge. I’m hopeful about that happening at the moment but things can change quickly when you’re chasing a player. Someone else might suddenly become interested and they might be closer to where the player lives and he might change his mind. But, at this point, we’re certainly hopeful about having a freshness about our team when we do play Dagenham. I’m not willing to say anything about who the player is at this stage because I never like to do that until everything has been sorted. Hopefully that isn’t far away from happening because it is important for us to bring players in during January."

Various names are floating around the message boards; Paul Benson a shoe-in we're told, no, rubbish, says another, he's out for the season!

Elliot Benyon from Wycombe, (another former Swindon player http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliot_Benyon), just might be legs in that one, oh no, I'm at it now! (Er, you were all right! - Ed!)

But now I've started........an Addick mate told me that Chrissy Powell was willing to loan out former centre-back Leon Cort to us, even though Burnley have loaned him to Charlton, for the season!

Leaving; Kane to West Ham, Ryan to Ipswich!

I need a drink!

As ever, we will find out soon enough.
