Cobblers have a chat with Christian

Dailly; a Shrimper, a Cobbler, or just keeping fit?

He's been running around with the Shrimpers for over a month now to help him keep fit after being released by Portsmouth, but the veteran centre-back Christian Dailly, from a part of the world Blues boss Paul Sturrock knows well, is certainly not a done deal in the January transfer window.

Though another central defender would be useful, especially if Bilel is allowed to leave, do we want a 38-year old possibily turning out with the youngster at a mere 37, player/coach Graham Coughlan, who is preparing for his 500th league appearance at the weekend!

But if Luggy does fancy his fellow Scotsman he better get in quick because local Northampton media has confirmed that ex-head farmer and the Cobblers new boss Aidy Boothroyd, part of their sixth managerial team this year I'm told, is sniffing around him as well.

In fact, it's down to the negotiating process for the League Two strugglers.

Of course, this could mean Luggy has already made his mind up, but with him hoping to bring in a new signing before the Daggers match on Monday, will Dailly be that man or does the Shrimpers manager hope to bring someone in further forward?
