Craig Easton: Looks as if he could well be on his way
With the speculation that Blues boss Paul Sturrock is talking to Swindon Town's out of contract and our former loanee midfielder Michael Timlin, as well as Crystal Palace youngster Alassane N'Diaye reportedly on his way on a season loan, an Echo report today confirms that Luggy is indeed maybe not just going to boost the playing squad, he is interested in a direct replacement for Shrimpers skipper Craig Easton.
Soon to be a free agent himself, the local paper has revealed that he has been talking to one other League Two club, a direct swap with Timlin at former club Swindon possibly, and two Scottish teams, where he has got history having turned out 245 times for Dundee United over five years!
The reason for this seems to be that Captain Craig has been offered a pay cut from the last campaign which he finds unacceptable, whether the contract is for one or two seasons we don't know yet.
A hard working accurate passer of the ball, his defensive work sometimes went unappreciated, so it would be a blow, though S24 would argue not a knockout one.
As Sturrock is showing, like for like replacements are always out there, even on our budgets.
Both club and player refused to comment to the Echo but other teams have now been alerted to his availability.
So now what about about fellow out of contract player and son of Luggy, striker Blair?
