Timlin: Southend loan move

Timlin: A full-time Shrimper at last

The Shrimpers have made their third signing of the week when serial loanee from Swindon Town Michael Timlin finally joined Southend on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

Timmo has agreed to an 18-month deal and will be available to play against Port Vale on Saturday afternoon at Roots Hall.

The former Fulham player looked as if he would sign for the club at the start of this present campaign when he became a free agent but surprised everyone by putting pen to paper on a two-year contract for the Robins, dazzled by then new manager Paolo Di Canio.

However, he soon fell out with the temperamental Italian and found himself back with old boss Paul Sturrock as injuries started to mount up.

The central midfielder has spent the last six months on loan from the County Ground, his third spell with the Blues.

This time around he's turned out 22 times and has scored three goals.

And he can turn out against his former club when we take them on for the third time this season in the League Two clash on Saturday, January 28th in south--east Essex having previously lost the last two, when Timmo wasn't available!

Welcome to the club again mate, glad it's for a bit longer this time!
