Timlin; close to a deal with the Shrimpers
The Blues midfielder Michael Timlin is edging ever closer to become a full time Shrimper after spending four months here on loan from promotion rivals Swindon, his second spell as an Essex boy.
Echoman Chris Phillips tweeted Monday: 'Hearing that it looks like Michael Timlin WILL be joining Blues on a permanent basis.'
This does follow on from last week's reports that the wages remaining on his 18-month contract had been agreed to be picked up by Southend and that a fee was all that was holding the clubs from shaking hands on the deal.
Latest reports now suggest that a five-figure sum, (£50k?), has been agreed by both parties involved, and that pen should be put to paper when the transfer window reopens in the new year.
That legendary club 'source' even made an appearance, telling www.echo-news.co.uk: “Everything has been agreed for Michael to stay at Southend United now. It definitely looks as though that’s what’s going to happen and it’s good news for everyone. Michael has done well since coming to the football club and he’s keen to stay as well so it’s very pleasing.”
Timmo's present loan arrangement is down to end in January and we next play Di Canio's Robins on Saturday, January 28th at Roots Hall, would be nice if the Peckham born boy could actually turn out in this one, for the right side!
Looking good at the moment he will.
