Lee Sawyer: Third time lucky as a Shrimper?
It was short and sweet on www.wokingfc.co.uk:
'Woking Football Club can confirm that Lee Sawyer has left the club by mutual agreement, and has joined Southend United.
We thank Lee for his short time at the club, and wish him all the best in the future.'
As short, maybe not as sweet, on www.southendunited.co.uk:
'Southend United can confirm that it is in discussions with a number of players presently about joining the club, one of which is Lee Sawyer.'
At this moment in time no signing has been finalised. Once a deal is official it will be confirmed on our official website first.'
Not sure where that leaves young Lee, in a bit of a twilight zone maybe, but one thing, he can expect a pay cut from before!
Wouldn't say no though, one of my favourite players when here first time around, it was the second time that he seemed to lose his way and Tilly just gave up on him, though it was Lee that requested the move back to Chelsea, who also eventually had enough; third time lucky?
If anyone can sort him out it's Luggy, but is it as a replacement for Anthony Grant?
I hope not.
A good night for the faithful and Lee:
