Craig Easton: Devon bound?
Torquay United have lost a few players, mainly to ex-boss Paul Buckle now at fourth tier rivals Bristol Rovers, and Gulls new manager and former Shrimper Martin Ling has some rebuilding to do.
And according to Echo journalist Chris Phillips, with maybe a nod from his legendary source at Roots Hall, they could be interested in the unsettled Southend skipper Craig Easton.
There is history between the two as Ling was the Borient boss when taking Easton to the east end in six years ago.
The Devon club would certainly have some dosh in the bank to pay what the Scottish born midfielder believes he's worth and would be a good signing for a team obviously looking to bring in a few new faces, in fact, having been through last summer with the Shrimpers, it looks tight up Craig's street!
Easton has already turned down one Shrimeprs offer so is available on a free transfer, and the odds are he will leave the club as they seek out other alternatives within the tight financial budget.
Phillips tweeted: 'Torquay United now favourites to sign Craig Easton, if he leaves Blues.'
Keep an eye on this one, though you couldn't get further from any fancied return to Scotland than where Craig could end up, but some news on Crystal Palace midfielder Alassane N'Diaye would be nice, and as he's expected back from holiday this week we may get it, or at least news of another possible target.
