Herd: Looking to move on
Farewell Johnny Herd; who predicted his own demise!

Blues boss Paul Sturrock has named five members of his first team squad who will not be offered new deals, and there are no surprises, other that Luke Prosser seems to have got away with it, as also predicted by this site.

Goalkeeper Rhys Evans, left back Johnny Herd, (more on Johnny in a future post), midfielders Adam Bouzid and Miguel Comminges along with wideboy Louie Soares, have all been informed they will not be offered new deals.

However, there still may be more, Luke start praying!

Luggy told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I have told those five that they won't be offered new deals and I there are others I've yet to meet with. It's never nice having to release a player but it's part and parcel of the game. They have all been model professionals and fantastic to work with and I really hope they can find new clubs."

And say so all of us, good luck lads, especially Johnny, and even Louie!

We said last week; not rocket science, but nice to be proved right, so far!

Out of contract
(S24 guess on future in brackets);

Keepers Glenn Morris (one year), Rhys Evans (out).

Defenders Graham Coughlan (one year but promotion to assistant manager), Luke Prosser (one year by the skin of his teeth), Johnny Herd (very sad, but probably out).

Midfielders Craig Easton (two years), Adam Bouzid (out), Louie Soares (out), Miguel Comminges (tough, he hasn't really played, but out), and Merrick James-Lewis (so young, but out).

Strikers; Blair Sturrock (one year); Kyle Asante (one year).

On longer deals:

Sean Clohessy, Peter Gilbert, Chris Barker, Mark Phillips (lucky Mark!), Bilel Mohnsi, Anthony Grant, Barry Corr, Lee Sawyer, Ryan Hall, Kane Ferdinand, Harry Crawford and, er, Matt Paterson, good luck Patters in getting back in favour, but some decent names in that group.

As for this year; Chris Barker is still leading the voting for the S24 player-of-the-season:
