Michael Timlin: Joining the ex-Robins at Roots Hall
The Shrimpers have signed midfielder Michael Timlin on loan for a month from Swindon Town to replace the loss of captain Craig Easton, who will be out with a hamstring injury for a similar amount of time.
So along with Craig himself, the 25-year-old, who has represented the Republic of Ireland under-21's, will be joining Rhys Evans, Sofi Zaaboub, Barry Corr and Blair Sturrock as former Swindon players at Southend and having been team mates with the latter three, all signed by Luggy previously.
Michael is looking forward to getting some match time under his belt and it's expected he'll make his debut against Morecambe at the weekend.
Timlin told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I know Paul Sturrock because he brought me to Swindon in the first place and I know what to expect from working with him. From my point of view I am happy that Danny Wilson has given me the opportunity. I just want to come to Southend, work hard and get some games. The main thing is the chance to play regular football and hopefully it will be a good loan spell."
