Easton: Handed armband

Southend United captain Craig Easton will be sidelined for at least a month

It's been confirmed that Shrimpers skipper Craig Easton suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat at Northampton Town last Saturday and is highly unlikely to play again until mid-October at the earliest.

Blues boss Paul Sturrock moved quickly to replace him with fellow midfielder Michel Timlin on a month's loan from Easton's former club, League One Swindon Town.
