Johnson: Eyeing promotion

Johnson: 'I really understand what the gaffer wants from me now'

Shrimpers winger Jemal Johnson has not been at his best since signing for the club in the summer, but after a couple of decent displays for the reserves, including a decent double against the Farmers seconds on Tuesday in a 4-2 win, he's ready to return to a more senior level.

The thing is, does Blues boss Paul Sturrock agree with him?

Johnson told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I had a chat with the gaffer a couple of weeks ago and I really understand what he wants from me now. I also had a lot going on off the pitch and had some family problems but that’s been sorted out too. That has a made a big difference to me and I’ve really got my head together again. I’ve shown that by playing well in the last two reserve games and hopefully I can be in the squad again when we play Torquay on Saturday.”

It's a pretty packed subs bench at the moment, but at home, could he replace Blair?
