Harris: Millwall legend

Harris: 'Joining Southend is a boyhood dream coming true for me'

New Shrimpers striker Neil Harris has seen a lot in his long career that saw him spend 11 years at the Den with Millwall where he played in an FA Cup Final, losing to Manchester United, but winning a League One Play-Off Final at Wembley against Swindon Town.

However, signing a three-year deal with his local club is as good as any game Bomber has played in.

Harris told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Signing for Southend is a boyhood dream coming true for me. When I was around nine years old my dad took me to watch the team for the first time and I’ve been coming ever since. Even from right back then I had a dream and a vision of one day playing for Southend and it was music to my ears when I found out they wanted to sign me. I’m delighted it’s finally happened and there really isn’t another club who I would’ve left Millwall to join, so I can’t wait to get started. It’s going to be fantastic and will be right up there with the very best moments of my career.”

And the faithful can't wait to see him in action wearing the Blue of Southend.
