Coughlan: Game lacked urgency
Coughlan:  'I’ve seen enough of him to see that he deserves the opportunity'

He stood out in Tuesday afternoon's 2-0 reserves defeat to Colchester United with a display of trickery and skill, so much so that 16-year-old first year scholar and right winger Marlon Agyakwa will begin training with the Shrimpers first team straight away!

Coughlan told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Marlon was the main highlight for us and he will train with the first team tomorrow now. I’ve seen enough of him to see that he deserves the opportunity and this will be a chance for us to have a look at him in that environment. He’s a young lad and he’s done well but overall it was a very disappointing second half performance. I thought we were fairly bright and positive in the first half but after that we got sloppy.”

If we have found another gem let's hope he doesn't join the other talented youngsters we've seen sign on the dotted line for Premiership clubs.
