Evans: Expects tough game

Steve Evans: League Two Manager of the Month for October 2011

Blues boss Paul Sturrock has missed out on being named the fourth tier's Manger of the Month for October which would have been his second consequtive award.

However, Luggy has been pipped this time by creepies boss Steve Evans as they won five and drew one of their six games last month, the same as the Shrimpers as it happened and we had a better goal difference but the panel obviously felt it was fair to spread this things around.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley told www.football-league.co.uk: "Crawley Town are certainly continuing the promotion  form of last year in the npower League 2 this campaign. October was agreat month for Steve Evans' side as they took 16 points from a possible 18."

Hopefully, while it didn't prove a curse for Luggy, far from it, it will be that way for the obnoxious fat boy and his creepy side!

The other nominees were; Mark Yates (Cheltenham Town) and Chris Wilder (Oxford United).

Hylton: On the double

Danny Hylton: League Two Player of the Month October 2011

However, in form Shrimpers midfielder Ryan Hall, don't know whether to call him a winger or inside forward at the moment, did not win the players title, pipped at the post by the Shots Danny Hylton, whoscored six goals in five games as his side have risen back up the fourth tier table.

His manager Dean Holdworth said: "Danny's eagerness to improve and his dedication to both the team and himself has been fantastic since the day I arrived as manager. He deserves and his commitment has ensured that practice makes perfect. Danny has a hunger to improve every day in training and this testament to his hard work."

Many of us will get a chance to see how good the lad is when we visit the Rec on Boxing Day.

Also shortlisted were; Ryan Clarke (Swindon Town) and Claude Davies (Crawley Town).

The judging panel comprised of Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football league expert Peter Beagrie, Football League chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
