Our website has been online for the last twelve years with no interruption and is part of Digital Sports Group, the oldest and largest football fans network on the internet, and we would be delighted to welcome all previous contributors and visitors to the site to join us here in what we hope will be one the most exciting seasons in the Shrimpers long history.

In October we had an amazing 50,399 hits, 30,300 of those unique user hits, with three article breaking a thousand.

They all had a Premiership connection sadly, a couple on Luke Daniels got the Baggies support excited, but the top story with 1,491 hits was from our very own Shrimpers Trust's match report for youth team defeat by QPR, written by S24 (TLG) ex-editor Rob Craven; ok, maybe some West Londoners' checking in!

However, many Southend stories alone got to the top of the table with Boli's non-signing, looks like the creepies may be interested, anything to do with Blues boss Paul Sturrock, and the good old FA Cup Draw, were all well read.

On the ex-United front, the Tilly and Brush sacked story and Freddy being asked to look elsewhere by the Sky Blues were both top 20.

So if you're reading us, why not join us as well!

The following is an unashamed ad for the site along with a plea to join a small but perfectly formed team that travel all around country to give you the best possible service.

So read on and please, click on the link at the end, and give you're name and contact details to the fastest growing Shrimpers fansite, you know it makes sense.

Why Shrimpers24?

Put it quite simply we are here to offer fans of Southend United FC the very best experience possible related to the team they love. We're run by fans for the fans, our site is driven by the love for the club and nothing else.

Previous or potential contributors - how can you help us?

We are continuing to make a number of improvements to our website even in the fourth month of an already successful season, and key to this is adding extra features to the website via new writers and contributors.

So you may ask, what kind of contributions are we looking for to be placed on the website? The answer is anything you want, perhaps you wish to write an opinion piece on the current situation, the past match, the next game, a trip down memory lane, your favourite Blues side of all time amongst others.

In short we place no restrictions and no boundaries. It can be related to Southend United Football Club, football in general, or England's cricket team being the No. 1 side in the world, just forget the 50 over rubbish, whatever rocks your world!

How often you wish to write is also down to you, and any previous journalistic experience is not required, just write to us at the address given below and as editor I'll follow it up personally, whatever place you happen to lay your hat, in the UK or around the world, we know we have several Aussie readers, my brother in Perth for one!

We can look at setting up a personal column suited to your particular take on events, or add you to the rota of writers covering behind-the-scenes, ex-players, previews or the matches themselves.

Whatever happens this season, it's going to be nothing less that interesting!

Why not join the party?
