Ex-Shrimpers find new clubs: Drewey to Alfreton & Peggy to Waltham Forest

Drewe Broughton; he did get 'that' goal against the Farmers

Our former, along with a few others, striker Drewe Broughton, has joined Blue Square Bet Premier side Alfreton Town.

The Reds boss Nicky Law has three of his six strikers out injured at the moment so why not take a chance on free agent Broughton, who had a couple of pre-season trials with the side before picking up an injury.

Drewey, who started his career in 1996, should make his debut against Essex boys Braintree Town.

Chris Sutton took him to Lincoln City in 2010, but it didn't seem long before the new boss at the Imps, our very own Steve Tilson, would want him out, let's face it Tilly had history with Drew, and sure enough, but taking longer than we thought, including a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon, eventually he was!

And it shouldn't be long before the tall hitman can say hi to our old boss as Lincoln play his new club on October 11th, if Tilly is still at the Imps!

Peggy has done the rounds since leaving the Hall

Meanwhile, former Arsenal schoolboy midfielder Peggy Lokando has left Billericay Town and dropped a tier to sign for Ryman League Division One North team Waltham Forest.

EEB felt he was a bit of a smooth passer back in the day but it wasn't to be and he joined six others, including Charles Ademeno, in leaving the Shrimpers during the day of the long knives in the summer of '09.

Peggy should be in the squad for the match with Maldon & Tiptree at the weekend.
