The FA Youth Cup Second Round

Southend United Under-18's v Brentford Under-18's (to be played at Roots Hall on Tuesday, November 15th; kick-off 19.30)

Ricky Duncan's young Shrimpers will be hoping to reach the next stage of the competition where they face Hill City away if they win tonight.

Since the last campaign's 3-0 victory over the West London lads with goals by Duane Ofori-Acheampong and a James Stevens brace Brentford have taken on the experience at this level of Ose Aibangee who has worked for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford!

Duncan told www.southendunited.co.uk: "They've changed a lot in the last twelve months. They used to be morre direct, but they like to pass the ball around now and Ose has changed their style. That siad, I went o watch them in the first round against Lewes, and I thought 3-0 flattered them because the first two goals they scored were their firston target. We will need to be aware of their quality, but we have nothing to fear."

Ricky was happy enough with is side's work in the first round of the competition where they beat Corinthians 4-0 and Jack Payne's third goal there was nominated for the League Football Education Goal of the Month, & you can vote for it here: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk

In the meantime the Under-18's head coach is hoping foe adecnt sized crowd tonight.

Duncan said: 'I'd ike to think all the people who came out to support us last time around and I hope that a few more supporters will come out this time. I can guarantee you that you'll see a game of football, and it will definitely be entertaining, so it would be great to see some new faces at the match, as well as those who have seen us before."
