Ling: Team on a high after win

Mertin Ling: Don't get too upset Oxford, losing to the Shrimpers can lead to good things!

Torquay boss and ex-Shrimper Martin Ling believes confidence is sky high at Plainmoor after his side's 3-0 victory at Crewe, only two weeks after their 4-1 hammering at Roots Hall and many of the Gulls faithful were after his head!

Goals from Rene Howe, Lee Mansell and Billy Bodin left ensured a third consecutive npower League Two win for the Gulls, leaving Ling beaming.

He told the PA: "We went eight games without a win and now we have won three games, scored nine goals and let in none. It's a funny game football and it shows how confidence can change quickly. We have gone through our bad period, turned it around and now we've got to enjoy it while it lasts. Everyone is working hard and our front three are making a brilliant defensive unit and take as much credit for the clean sheet as the back four. You can't pick a man of the match for us because every player out there was outstanding."
