Moussa: 'Making sure we stay up is the most important thing'

After a 100% playing record for the Shrimpers in 2009 and into 2010 Franck Moussa was looking like a man in need of a rest.

As Macca, Christophe and Granty all consistantly received enough yellow cards to make the dullest room as bright as a midday sun on the Bondi Beach, and then the suspensions to sit in it, poor Franck just played on, and on, stuck out wide left.

He gave it his all but the spark had gone, we knew it, he probably knew it, and certainly his manager Steve Tilson knew it, but couldn't rest Franck as he only had enough fit players for a decent five a side team, and most of them could paly central midfield.

Then the Belgian born player got his chance. With two of the usual central partnerships out at the same time, with twilight zone accuracy it was always one at at any given time, Tilly had no choice, Moussa was in the middle.

And if overall the team was not getting the results their play sometimes deserved, Moussa did well enough personally for Tilly to keep it going.

Franck spoke to www.echo-news.co.uk: "It's been good to have few games in the middle again and I do prefer playing there. I feel more comfortable and more involved in matches and it's basically what I'm more used to. Hopefully I can stay in there but it's good to show the manager I can do jobs in other positions and just making sure we stay up is the most important thing."

Against Tranmere, as Watt limped off after 53 minutes and Macca came on as substitute, Franck was placed back out on the wing, SUFC Exiles supremo John Walton, the Exiles sponsor the player, believed with a more defensive central midfield in Christophe and McCormack, any creative energy that the Moose had been providing went out of the team making a draw more likely.

Franck concluded with some confidence building for the vital game with MK Dons on Saturday.

The Moose said: "We all need to stick together but I'm sure we can stay up. We need to take it game by game and give it our all, but we have shown at times this season what we can do and we need to do it again now. It would be great to some good results soon as well because we don't want to get further down the table and start putting more pressure on ourselves."
