By Rail

Dartford is the nearest station to Princes Park.

This station is where Mick Jagger and Keith Richards bumped into each other by chance, an event that would result in the formation of The Rolling Stones, so now you know.

Central London stations to aim for, plenty of services to get there, give yourself two hours from central Southend and around 40 minutes from central London:

  • London Charing Cross via Woolwich Arsenal and Lewisham (Semi-fast Service)
  • London Cannon Street via Woolwich Arsenal and Greenwich (Stopping Service)
  • London Charing Cross via Sidcup Fast from Hither Green to London Bridge.
  • London Charing Cross via Bexleyheath and Lewisham
  • London Victoria via Bexleyheath, Lewisham and Denmark Hill

A Day Return from Southend stations is £21.30 return, but from London stations only £7.50 return, no Oyster cards accepted.

To Dartford FC: Exit station straight ahead towards the Orchard Theatre/Shopping Centre.

Do NOT cross the bridge but take the steps/ramp down to the Bus stops, then take the Fastrack B service towards Bluewater/Gravesend and alight at the Princes Park stop.

Buses run every 10 mins during the day, with a slightly longer interval in the evenings.

Trains Back:
22.01 to Greenwich DLR changing at Stratford for 23.22 to Southend.
22.18 to London Charing Cross 23.06
22.25 to London Bridge underground to West Ham for 23.49 for Southend.

Keep safe if using this transport.

By Bus

The Fastrack B route provides a direct service to the ground, ask for the Princes Park stop. Buses run every 10 mins during the day, with a slightly longer interval in the evenings.

On Foot

It is a 10-15 minute walk from Dartford town centre largely alongside the Fastrack busway.

Teams

Dartford: (from) Young, Ibrahim, Burgess, Gross, Goodacre, Champion, Bruce, Bradbrook, Hayes, Harris, Berquez, Burchell, Sheringham, Shinn, White, Noble, Rook, Probets, Bonner, Palfrey, Pallen, Mead, Burns.

Blimey, can we have a couple?!!

Southend United: We'll come back to you later! But we should see Gilbert and Corr who can play in this fixture.

Pubs and Pies

Cheap drinks I'm told at a club next to the ground but here are few other selections; sorry don't know the area, but have a click on here to get a few names, reviews and directions, good luck:

History

Dartford Football Club was formed in 1888 by members of the Dartford Working Men's Club, initially playing only friendlies. The club soon was entering cup competitions, reaching the final of the Kent Senior Cup in 1894. Following this, Dartford were founder members of the Kent League for the 1894-95 season, and entered the FA Cup for the first time the season after.

Dartford became founder members of the Southern League Division Two two seasons later, winning the Championship at the first attempt. The club moved between the Southern and Kent Leagues several times over the following seasons, dropping to the West Kent League in the 1900s, following financial difficulties. Around the same time the club found its first permanent home ground, Summers Meadow in Lowfield Street, obtained on a long lease.
