Rail travellers take a hit

Having a couple of £7.50 return tickets on my hands after the Swindon match was called off I decided to give First Great Western a call to see, on the off chance, I could get any of my money back. Stop laughing.

The not too suprising news is that Standard Advance are non-refundable.

They did give the advice that if you phone before the booked train left, a bit late now, and you had a new date and time, don't know when the match will be played, you could change them at a tenner fee!

I once cancelled some advanced tickets booked on the Trainline website but they also charged me a tenner so even if you could do it in this case you would get a fiver back.

They are now torn up and lying at the bottom of the bin.
