It's worth noting that thetrainline.com charges a £1 booking fee, but you'll still making a decent saving with the discount.

Coach operator National Express is offering 40,000 one-way coach seats from £1 through its funfare promotion. The offer applies to certain promotional routes across the UK so check this first; to book, go to the National Express website. Once you've selected your dates and destination, any available £1 seats will be displayed.

The offer isn't available for travel to or from airports, and only applies to promotional tickets booked before Wednesday 25 March. It's worth noting that there's a booking fee of 50p, and that the £1 seats are likely to go quickly; tickets are also non refundable, so be sure to check your dates before you buy.
