Southend United Reserves v Luton Town Reserves at Roots Hall; kick-off 14.00 - Admission Free.

Not a bad line-up if you decide to take on the wind and rain and visit the Hall to see what could be a difficult game in the conditions, but seeing as their are only eight games between the five teams left in our section of the Combination, might be a cup competition as well, these matches have become collective pieces!

Good to see Kyle Asante get some game time as he's been a victm of the new five substitute rule but it looks as if he's starting out wide, and as Michael Timlin can't play against his parent club Swindon on Saturday, not surprising to see him here.

Graham Coughlan will be a reserve team boss and play as well, expect to see Luggy in the stands.

Meanwhile, www.bedfordshire-news.co.uk tells us that Charlie Henry could finally make his first appearance for Luton after being named on the substitutes’ bench.

The 24-year-old winger was signed from Newport County in November but has yet to make his first appearance due to a foot injury .

New signings John Paul Kissock and Collin Samuel also feature, as do defenders Dean Beckwith and Ed Asafu-Adjaye, along with Aaron O’Connor for the Combination clash.

Southend United: Bentley, Artemi, Coughlan, Gilbert, Nesbitt, Asante, Timlin, Stevens, Johnson, Crawford, Sturrock.

Subs: Chambers, Nije, Auger, Paxman, Hyland, Agyakwa.

Luton Town: Kidd, Jibodu, Asafu-Adjaye, Beckwith, Carden, Kissock, Stephens, Tavernier, McAdams, O’Connor, Samuel.

Subs: Deeney, Carney, Ann, Nash, Henry.

Colchester United, Stevenage, Oxford United and Luton Town will be the only teams facing Southend United reserves in the Combination league this season as teams pull out for financial reasons.
