Review - Ipswich Town

It was less than a month ago that the Blues Two's fought out a credible 2-2 draw with Ipswich reserves, and now they have to face the Suffolk based side again at Roots Hall Wednesday afternoon for a 2pm kick-off.

There will be a few kids on view as usual but reserve team boss Ricky Duncan could have a few members of a first team squad that has grown recently; Osei Sankofa, Johnny Herd and Dougie Freedman seem certainties, Matt Paterson might even get a start, while Daniel Bentley should be in goal.

Ipswich may include the former Blues trailist, striker Ed Upson, who was taken back on by current boss Roy Keane in the summer and given a one-year contract.

However his patence is starting to wear thin with the 20-year-old so Ed might be given another go in south east Essex sometime in the future!!

Upson, who scorered the winning goal in the 2005 FA Youth Cup final when only 15, was given a warning by the former ManU and Ireland captain after he scored the winning goal in the last Tractor Boy reserve match!

Keane said: "Ed was poor. Just because you score a penalty doesn't mean you've played well. He needs to get a move on with his fitness because his contract is up in three or four months. He did a bleep test Monday and his score wasn't the best, but we'll see. It's up to the player."

Motivation or what from Mr. Keane!
