Sawyer: Commits for another year

Lee Sawyer: Hopefully to be seen at Roots Hall this afternoon

Graham Coughlan's Blues Two's take on Stevenage Tuesday afternoon in the Combination League at Roots Hall; kick-off 14.00.

What could add a few interested onlookers to the East Stand for free in what could be windy and difficult conditions is the return of midfielder Lee sawyer, who was just starting to show some good form when he limped off at half-time in the 3-0 defeat at Crawley Town on Tuesday, August 30th, 11 games ago, since when the Shrimeprs have risen to the top of League Two.

It's hard to see Ryan Halll or Bilel Mohsni being risked in this game but Blair Sturrock, who scored in the last stiffs outing, may get a run around.

The reserves are still looking for their first Combination point after three successive defeats, two already at the Hall in the five team league.

Any news of trialists we'll post on the site as soon as we hear anything.

Possible Southend United: Bentley, Furlonge, Coughlan, Artemi, Prosser, Sawyer, James-Lewis, Stephens, Smith, Johnson, Sturrock.

Subs: Hyland, Tatham, Agyakawa, Hymas, Nije.
