Ricky keeps Reserves

Ricky didn't have as the same success with the reserves as he did with his Championship winning youth side.

However, the club has seen enough to offer him the job full time while also remaining the boss of the under-18 boss side.

There was some calls for a former player to return, Andy Edwards was mentioned in dispatches but has ended up in charge of the youth team at Borient, yet in these tough times when budgets are tight and there's a new ground to be built, the club has made a fair call.

The 43-year-old Duncan oversaw 3 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats in his 10 matches in charge of Blues Two's after Colin West did a runner to Hartlepool last February, and one of those wins was curtesy of a 1-0 youth team win over Northampton which got carried over. (To be fair that happened with a defeat as well, to Luton.)

A number of those games were played after earlier postponements due to the weather and Ricky was hampered in selection by the first team having even more fixtures in close proximity meaning Tilly picked all the best, and fit, players, in a small squad.

Many times, especially towards the end, Ricky had to promote a few of his under-18 team, as well as testing out a number of trailists.

So he deserves his chance and Tilly, talking to the official site, agreed: "Ricky took control of the reserves towards the end of last season and he will be doing it again next year. We know what he's all about. Ricky has done a great job with the youth team and this enables him to carry on working with our younger players at a different level."
