Essex Senior Cup Semi-Final: Aveley v Southend United

Not a bad team that Shrimpers seconds player/coach Graham Coughlan has been given for this last four tie of the county's senior cup competition.

Apart from Lee Sawyer being saved for the tough trip to Morecambe as the first team continues to suffer injury problems, the former Shrewsbury skipper, playing consistantly well himself for the Luggy starting eleven, has been given a side of the usual suspects.

Glenn Morris will start in goal; Miguel Comminges will join defenders Johnny Herd and Luke Prosser in getting some game time; Louie Soares, Harry Crawford and Kyle Asante will make an exciting forward line at this level; then throw in a few kids who have been performing well at their usual level, and we've got a competitive team which should grab a final place.

Southend United: Morris, Comminges, Osifuwa, Prosser, Herd, Nesbitt, Soares, Woodyard, James-Lewis, Asante, Crawford.

Subs (from): Chambers, Furlonge, Stevens, Smith, Bouzid, Baucutt, Abdellah.

Result as soon as we know it, report as soon as we write it!

The winners will face Billericay Town or Heybridge Swifts in the final. That tie takes place Tuesday, March 1st, kick-off 19.45.
