Review - Ipswich Town

After not playing since the 3-2 win over the Farmers in mid-December, Ricky Duncan's reserves should get their first game of 2010 in Suffolk.

The match in the Totesport Football Combination was to be played at Portman Road but the pitch was badly cut up after last Saturday's 3-2 victory over Freddie Eastwood's Coventry and has been moved to their training ground.

The surprise inclusion is Sunderland loanee centre back Jean-Yves M'Voto getting 45 minutes.

Blues boss Steve Tilson told www.southendunited.co.uk: "Jean's obviously short on match fitness. He will paly 45 minutes against Ipswich and no more as we don't want to rush him back. After being out for so long the last thing we want to do is push him too hard at this stage."

Jean-Francois Christophe, Johnny Herd, Dougie Freedman and James Walker, will all get starts.

Not a bad team for change against an experienced Ipswich line-up which will include defender Ben Thatcher playing his first match of the season.

Manager Roy Keane will be there watching his second eleven.

Southend United:
Joyce, Christophe, M'Voto, Reynolds, Herd, Walker, Dennis, O'Keefe, Asante, Spencer, Freedman.

Substitutes: Crawford, Osifuwa, Milner, James-Lewis, Hazell.
