Hoskins Hat-Trick Helps Hornets Hammer Reserves

Well, the second half was an improvement, we were four down at the break!

These reports are getting a bit predictible, and we've put out worst teams.

Even so, the Shrimpers will not be competitive in the Totesport Football Combination until the squad gets bigger, and as that's not going to happen anytime soon, we've lost another two players this week, we better get used to these beatings.

Liam Henderson got the first of his brace after only three minutes, a low shot from the edge of the area was too much for new back up keeper Kelvin Jack who had a debut to forget.

19 minutes and it's two, Henderson again, another shot, from 20 yards out this time.

Will Hoskins at last got his name on the score sheet on 23 minutes, following on from his own strike to head into an empty goal.

29 minutes and it's four, Hoskins shooting home again.

Scott Spencer reminded the brave 100-odd crowd that the Shrimpers were out there, well pushed onto the crossbar by Hornets shot stopper Richard Lee.

Half-time 0-4!

So it was boring Watford in the second as they only allowed Hoskins to complete his treble with yet another low, hard effort beating Jack.

Henderson could have added his own hat-trick but missed with a close range header.

Trailist Grant Kerr was out there, but looks doomed to be another one reserve game wonder.

Anthony Grant looked OK during the first half, and should be in the squad against Hartlepool, where he could just step into the shoes of the suspended Christophe allowing the Moose to go left instead of the returned loanee Watt.

Game over then, and with a reserve game a week throughout March the pain will only continue!

Next up, Norwich, bless!
