Essex Senior Cup Fourth Round

Southend United v Grays Athletic (to be played at Roots Hall on Tuesday, November 29th; kick-off 19.45)

As for the side that reserve team coach Graham Coughlan will be in charge off, well, it will be a strong one, he has even selected himself as he did in the last round that saw the Shrimpers knock-out Waltham Forest on penalties.

Plenty of the senior squad have been sitting on the bench or in the stands recently so in they come including shot stopper Glen Morris, who hasn't played since injuring his thigh six weeks ago against Torquay United.

Kyle Asante is back as a sub after his hat-trick on loan with Canvey Island.

No Jemal Johnson though, not a surprise in the circumstances!

Coughlan said to www.echo-news.co.uk: “Tonight’s game is a window of opportunity for the players. If the manager decided to rest players for the cup games or change things around then those playing tonight need to impress this evening to force their way into his thinking. There should also be an edge to the game as it’s another cup competition and hopefully we can play well.”

Southend United: Morris, Furlonge, Artemi, Coughlan, Prosser, James-Lewis, Grant, Woodtard, Sawyer, Mullings, Sturrock.

Subs: Chambers, Nesbitt, Smith, Stevens, Agyakwa, Asante.

Admission for the match will be £3 for Adults and £1 for concessions, and once again only the East green and Black seats are open.

The Gravelmen play in the Isthmian League Division One North where they play their home games at Rookery Hill, Corringham and are in second position going into tonights cup tie. They finished the last campaign in 10th place.
