Essex Senior Cup Third Round

Southend United v Waltham Forest (to be played on Wednesday November 9th; kick-off 19.30.)

Admission will be £3 for adults and £1 concessions with only the East Greens and Blacks open for the match.

Reserve team coach Graham Coughlan will give himself some match time for Wednesday evening's cup tie, along with first team squad members Luke Prosser, Lee Sawyer, Jemal Johnson and young midfielder Merrick James-Lewis who returned early from a loan spell with Braintree Town in September: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk

No sighting of last season's top scorer Barry Corr who has recently returned to light training with Echoman Chris Phillips tweeting that 'he's not yet ready to play I've been told.'

Southend United: Chambers, Furlonge, Artemi, Coughlan, Prosser, James-Lewis, Sawyer, Agyakwa, Johnson, Smith, Mullings.

Subs: Stevens, Nesbitt, Hyams, Payne, Paxman, Hyland.

The Stags play in the Isthmian League Division One North where they play their home games at Ilford FC and they finished the last campaign in 21st place.

Essex Senior Cup Update

The Essex Senior Cup is a knock-out system football competition that has been running since 1884, and is the most prestigious cup competition in the county.

The competition is supported by BBC Essex.

Last season the Shrimpers seconds reached the semi-final losing 2-1 to Aveley, who then lost to Billericay Town 2-0 on April 11th, 2011 at Ship Lane, home of Thurrock, with an attendance of 547.
