Duncan: 'O'Keefe, best player on the pitch; 'Sankofa: 'Not sure when I last scored'

Shrimpers reserve team boss Ricky Duncan was far happier than the debacle at Carrow Road last week, though obviously disappointed at conceding such a late equaliser.

Ricky told to the Echo after the game: "The commitment and desire which we lacked against Norwich was there yesterday and the attitude of the players was good. There was a good blend of youth and experiencein our line-up and I thought Stuart O'Keefe was the best player on the pitch."

Meanwhile, Osei Sankofa was still getting over the shock of scoring the opening goal, while pleased that he finally seems to have got over the injury problems that have plagued him since pre-season.

He told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I'm not even sure when I last got a goal to be honest with you, it was probably in training! I know I will have to be patient in waiting for an opportunity in the first team but I need to be ready for one when it does come my way."
