Son of Luggy striker Blair Sturrock was in the side after recovering from a hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, ColU started with former Shrimper loanees John White and Matt Heath, obviously having not won over new head Farmer John Ward.

Not much to report in the first 45, winger Ryan Hall shot just wide in the first quarter.

Then Harry Crawford's low cross found Sturrock who fired in a good effort well stopped by Farmers keeper Mark Cousins.

Sofiene Zaaboub was found by Stuurock later on in a good position but the former Swindon winger who many of the Blues faithful have written off as a panic signing lobbed his shot over the crossbar from only eight yards. Oh dear!

Boss Coughlan brought on Scott Spencer who took over from Sturrock, while Alex Woodyard came on for James Stevens, both at the break, and on the hour, Duane Ofori-Achaempong replaced the injured Adam Bouzid.

And it was young Duane who passed the ball into the path of Woodyard who struck a stunning 25 yarder that beat Cousins all hands down, finding the top left hand corner of the net.

Zaaboub carried on with his poor form missing a couple of chances before he limped off and possibily out of Luggy's plans for the future.

The Farmers pushed the home side at the end and were thankful to Rhys Evans saving well from Freddie Ladapo.

There might be a division between the first teams but at least at the reserve level the Essex honours go to Coughlan's Shrimpers.
