Brushy in charge as Feeney gets chance to impress

With Dean Austin joining Watford last week Brushy will take on reserve team manager duties at the Hall this afternoon.

He will see Liam Feeney in action as the 21-year-old winger, on loan from Salisbury City until the start of January, hopes he impresses enough to go on to taste some first team action at the weekend.

Speaking to the Southend Evening Echo, Blues boss Steve Tilosn said: "Liam has done alright in training so far and this will be a good chance to see him in a game. He will certainly be playing and it's a good chance for one or two others to play as well."

James Walker will be, joining young Rhys Henry up front.

Veteran Paul Furlong will not, as he's still out with his injured thigh.

Other members of the first team squad nursing injuries but hoping to get some match action will also be disappointed.

Southen United: Joyce, Whittaker, Sankofa, Jones, Reynolds, Hazell, Feeney, Lokando, O'Keefe, Walker, Henry.

Subs; McDonald, Oswifu, Abbey, Calver.
