Blues Two's fall to another nap hand

Whether this is doing the kids turning out for the reserves any good at all only the club can answer but at any level five goal bashings cannot be good for a players confidence.

Ricky Duncan wears two hats at the club as Reserve Team Manager and Head of Youth, if he could be completely honest it would be interesting to hear how he feels about the squads he has to choose from for the different sides.

With any player on the fringe being shipped out on loan supporters should get used to these results for the reserves against any club that can afford a decent sized squad.

Anyway, they did well to be just one down at half-time before the obvious difference in experience and the club budgets showed in the second period as tiredness set in.

The son of Alex slotted in at central midfield and lasted for 72 minutes.

It took the Posh only seven minutes to hit the bar through Dominic Green but they took the lead when a free-kick was hit home by Dean Keates.

There was a brief moment of hope for the Blues on the half hour when a good shot was well saved by home keeper James McKeowen.

However, it was the Keates show in the second half as he completed his hat-trick. A penalty on 50 minutes when Johnny Herd decided to stop Keates in his tracks in the boc and he got up to send Ian Joyce the wrong way.

Joyce, who had a good game in the circumstances, then pushed a Keates shot over the crossbar but just before the hour a fine ball from Fergurson found Edward Adjei who made no mistake.

Joyce then made another good save from Keates before the midfielder, who has plenty of league experience, took the corner which was headed on and found Shaun Batt to finish from close range.

Another save from the Blues American born keeper before, with three minutes to go, the player Joycey will have nightmares about was given the chance of another spot-kick when Clayton fouled Batt and Keates stepped up to complete his hat-trick.

Oh well, next week it's Wycombe, should be a touch more equal.
