We're back; and the Farmers will be at Roots Hall next season in some form

Well, Tilly took us out, and new boss Paul Sturrock is marching us right back in again!

After a late request to see if we could be reinstated, Wycombe Wanderers decided to move to the Central division so we were back in the Eastern where we finished bottom last season.

We'll be playing some old friends in Colchester United, (where we may see some ex-loanees now they have a squad of 52-odd players!), Ipswich Town, Luton Town, Oxford United, (they're new after the first team regained League status), Peterborough United, Stevenage Borough, and the champions Watford.

Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I would like to have a reserve team for next season and we have already spoken about trying to get back into the league. Hopefully it's not too late because I feel players need to be playing at least once a week and it's also good for youth players to make the step up."

Not sure that's the case Paul when they were getting five goal hammerings every week; but fair enough, and we must expect a few signings soon then, as we haven't got enough players for a first team friendly, let alone the reserves!
