Blues Boss To Start in Essex Senior Cup

Southend will travel to the Len Salmon stadium tonight, kick-off 19.45.

Ticket prices are Adults £7 and Children £3.

43-year-old Southend boss Steve Tilson is set to play in a young reserve
side against Bowers and Pitsea in the third round of the Essex Senior Cup.

Outside goalkeeper Ian Joyce their is no other first team experience while Callum Whittaker and Kyle Asante found themselves on the bench at Carlisle. 

With Saturday's youth team game against Orient postponed, if any of these lads impress in front of the boss they could see themselves on first team duty against Gillingham friday night at the Hall.

Ilford have won the competition the most times, with 13 wins (their first victory came in 1888 and their most recent in 1954).

The current holders are Chelmsford City, who defeated Concord Rangers 2-0 on 31 March 2009 at Dagenham & Redbridge's Victoria Road stadium, in front of 931 people.
