Harrison: Confirmed as getting a start for Blues Two's this afternoon

Back-up keeper Ian Joyce is still unable to turn out in the Totesport Football Combination fixture against Colchester United but Johnny Herd, Osei Sankofa and Dougie Freedman will all play.

Anyone turning up will get a chance to see if Middlesex based Ashford Town forward Byron Harrison can cut the mustard, especially as he may cost the Shrimpers at least £20,000 in compensation to get his signature from the Ryman League Premier club.

Small change to Uncle Ron!

Ashford boss Jamie Lawrence told www.stainesnews.co.uk: "I wouldn't stand in Byron's way if he got a chance with a league club. But of course, when someone's scored 19 goals for you this season, he's going to be missed if he goes. But if they want him, he's under 24 and we would hope to work out compensation with Southend as per the rules."

Southend United: Bentley, Sankofa, Herd, James-Lewis, Clayton, Reynolds, Asante, Dennis, Harrison, Calver, Freedman.

Subs: Crawford, Chambers, Osifuwa, Milner, Whittaker.
