Referee: Joe Ross (London FA) 10 out of 10 (general control 5/5, application of laws 3/3, appearance and personality 2/2) – dare I say it but a flawless performance from Joe Ross of all people! OK, it wasn’t a nasty game, but neither was last week’s against Yeovil and look what happened there! Well done Mr. Ross.

Attendance: 5,192 (approximately 80 away fans)

Freddy Eastwood was on the mark again
AND ANOTHER THING…

**Southend United failed to win a home League Two match for the first time in two-and-a-half months, since the 2-1 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers on 11th September.

**The Shrimpers avoided defeat to the Mariners for the first time in eight years! However, there were only three defeats in that time, with the two clubs not having met for seven seasons.

**The position at the end of the game of fifth equalled the highest United had occupied in 2004/5.

**Freddy Eastwood reasserted himself as the top goalscorer at Roots Hall this season, netting his eighth goal in nine games in equalising for the Seasiders.
