Marks Out of Ten: Southend V Burnley

Last updated : 14 March 2007 By Chris Daniels

Flavs 7 - Little to do but looked as safe as he has all season.

Francis 7 - Worth his place as he covered well, as ever looked good going forward.

CLARKE 8 MOTM - Absolutely rock solid, great in the air and excellent blocks and clearances. Passing was not bad too.

Sodje 7 - Still not back to his best but pretty damn close, fine match against a tough bugger.

Hunt 7 - A solid game also justifying Tilly's decision to keep him in the side. Strong in the tackle.

JCR 6 - Continued his recent run of not being quite on top of his game but still gave 100% chasing many lost causes.

Maher 6 - Not at his creative best but still worked hard for the cause. Some lovely first touches.

MacCormack 7 - Tough in the tackle as ever, sometimes too tough, and was all over the park. 11th booking!!!

Gower 6 - As with JCR drifted in and out of the match and lacked ideas to break down the disciplined Burnley defense.

Eastwood 7 - A touch out of it in the first half but nearly made something out of nothing on two occasions in the second.

Bradbury 6 - Missed a good chance early on and never quite seemed up with the pace of the game as has been the case for a while now.

SUBS

Sam 6 - A JCR type performance when he came on, showed lack of match fitness.

Foran 8 - Must be pushing Bradders for a starting place, first time the Burnley defense looked concerned all night. Took his goal with great skill and foresight, fast mind, fast feet.

Harrold 7 - Also troubled Burnley with usual mix of aggression and sheer bloody mindedness!
