Changes at the top at Southend United

The Echo has reported that ever popular Geoffrey King is set to depart Southend United from his position as chief executive, and No.2 to Chairman Ron Martin, after 12 years in the job.

The reason given is so that King is can focus on the property company Martin Dawn, owned by Uncle Ron!

No replacement has been announced but the commercial director Ian Riddoch will also be going.

Certainly there is no love lost between the Blues faithful and big Geoffrey who has put his foot in it on several occasions in the past.
