Ironically, the Shrimpers are playing the Don's in a Roots Hall frioendly on Saturday week, a match which will now prove to be a superb warm-up for United.
One Southend player who will take note of the fixture is midfielder Ian Selley, who is currently on loan from the troubled South London Club, who have recently lost the majority of their siupport to the newly formed AFC Wimbledon. It will be interesting to see whether Selley will play a part in the match.
The last time Blues played Wimbledon, United ended up victors by 2-1 in a 1993-94 pre-season friendly at Roots Hall.
