Got one more than the banished Prince

Fielding a team that only had Matt Harrold with any real first team experience it was a good win against their non-league opponents and would have brought a smile to the face of Blues boss Steve Tilson who began his own playing career with the Witham side.

The Prince, Rhys Henry, Ronnie Jones, Stuart O'Keefe and Ademeno himself all had chances saved or missed before young Charles headed home from close range after a long Johnny Heard throw-in.

Southend came close to doubling that lead when a Jamie Forshaw effort from a good 20 yards was well saved by the Witham keeper, Madden.

Sub James Lidden had the final chance but couldn't covert after a fine run through the Witham rearguard.

All in all, a decent run out for the boys.......and Skipper for the evening Uncle Matty Harrold, bless.

Southend: Masters, Forshaw, Jones, Murray, Herd, Henry (Liddle 60), Lokando, Abbey, O'Keefe, Harrold, Ademeno.
