Daniel Webb.
Webb, the 19-year old son of three-times Shrimpers boss David, has been hugely out of favour at Roots Hall for a year now, and last December made a loan move to Brighton untl the end of the season, scoring once in thirteen appearaces and claiming a Second Division championship medal in the process.

At the time a fee of £25,000 ha been agreed with Albion, but following the departure of Peter Taylor as Brighton boss the deal fell through and Webb found himself back in Essex.

Having featured occassionally during pre-season, scoring atr Chelmsford City, Webb had unsuccessful trial periods at Gillingam and Peterborough United before turning out, and scoring, for the first time for the Shrimpers this season during Wednesdays 2-1 Reserve team victory at Millwall.

However, Webb has now returned to the Withdean Stadium, with new Brighton boss Steve Coppell offering the youngster an initial month-long loan deal.

"It's great to be back. I really did enjoy my time here last season and I never wanted to leave the club. So to be linking up with Brighton again - even if it is just for a month - is fantastic and I am going to enjoy that month as much a possible." admitted Webb on his reyitn to the South Coast, and I'm sure all Shrimpers supporter will wish Daniel Webb the best of luck; he goes straight into thew squad for the televised Division One encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
