Watford: No Swindon bid for Robinson

20-year-old striker Robinson enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Blues scoring 7 goals in 21 appearances and we knew that clubs were looking at him, yet it still came as a surprise when Chris Phillips in the Echo revealed that Swindon had actually tabled a bid.

However, according to the Watford Observer the Championship club have confirmed they have not received any bid for Robinson, certainly not from the Wiltshire based club, who still has two years left on his contract at Vicarage Road.

Of course there is the reported millions they are meant to be getting soon for 35 goal man Simon Cox, Glasgow Celtic the latest club reported to have lined up for a bid, but they haven't got it yet and is Theo a similar player, I wouldn't have thought so.

Though it does seem Robins boss Danny Wilson has an interest in Southend, he grabbed our serial loanee Hal Robson-Kanu who then scored against us, and there are rumours that he may make an offer for our Swindon born keeper Steve Mildenhall.

So is this a bored local reporter needing to fill some space. Possibily.

But it does a service in one way and remind us we need to keep our eye on the ball, presuming Tilly wants to keep Theo and Watford are willing to let him go, the Hornets have just got rid of another young striker in Steve Kabba.

I accept if players go elsewhere because we can't match other clubs bids or match their wage demands but at least let's see some action. The club has to be up front with us this close season unlike the last two.

We don't want to be left behind once again, let's get in the mix now.
