Simon Francis: Buzzing off to Griffin Park?
Local press reports from West London have the Shrimpers Player-of-the-year Simon Francis ready and willing to sign for League One club Brentford as long as he can thrash out the personal terms.
If the Bees can match or improve the wages that Simon is on at the moment, we signed him while a Championship club, he could be on his way for a fee in the region of £150,000.
Bees boss Andy Scott obviously remembers that free-kick Simon scored earlier last season at Griffin Park to give us the lead when he flighted one in from well outside the penalty area that their keeper initailly held above his head, but then stepped back over the line with the ball, though it still ended up in another defeat!

They also must believe there was a weakness with both last season's full backs as Brentford have been reported by the Aberdeen Evening Express to be talking to ex-loanee left back Charlie Mulgrew, 18 league games for the Shrimpers back in 2008, and presently out of contract with the SPL club, as well as Kilmarnock striker Kevin Kyle.
Great to have some money for these stories to even get a run!
