Vernon: 'MK Dons can be beaten too'

First, he scored for parent club Colchester but ended up on the losing side; second, he played on loan for Gillingham but tore some ankle ligaments; third, Scott will paly against MK Dons for new club Southend next Saturday, and hopefully it will be third time lucky!

Vernon told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I've already played twice at MK Dons this season but hopefully it will go a bit better for me this weekend. Plenty has already happened there for me and, fingers crossed, Saturday will be more positive."

The travelling faithful will hope so too, the 2-1 win at Orient on December 28th seems a long, long time ago. The Shrimpers haven't tasted victory since and find themselves just a couple of points out of the bottom four.

Scott continued: "I think we are capable of beating anyone on our day and there is no reason why we can't win on Saturday. MK Dons can be beaten too. They lost 5-0 at Carlisle last weekend and have been a bit up and down themselves, so hopefully we can get the three points."
