Verdit in B&Q Vote Provides Huge Promise For United

Last updated : 11 December 2002 By Mark Wallis
The planning proposals for the development which was seen as vital if the Shrimpers stuttering Stadium plans are to get off the ground, were emphatically passed at the Civic Centre by 12 votes for and only 2 against.

The arguement of the KARERS who are also in opposition to United's Fossetts Farm development had their case completely blown into the wind, providing a huge glimmer of light in United's plan for the new stadium.

The proposals may go to John Prescott, but it seems unlikely and in any case almost every decision goes in favour of the Council and with the B&Q plans successfully passed, it seems only a matter of time before Southend United put their plan infront of the Council.

It seems very unlikely now that the decision should be any different and at long last the future is looking bright for Southend United.

The future's bright - the future's blue and white!
