Timlin: Behind new boss

Timlin: 'The manager knows I do prefer to play in the centre'

Shrimpers loanee midfielder goes back to Swindon in the new year, but in the meantime he's turning in such fine performances that Blues boss Paul Sturrock may just look to make it permanent when that time comes around.

For now, Timmo is happy enough to be playing first team football wherever he gets asked to play, and that has been on the left hand side.

However, he prefers the centre, and he got a chance in the 1-1 draw with Morecambe last weekend, and he enjoyed it so much he picked up the S24's man-of-the-match award, how can Luggy move him after that?!

Timlin told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I enjoyed playing more in the centre of the midfield and the manager knows I do prefer to play there. I thought it went quite well for me in there but if the manager wants me to go back out on the left again on the weekend or anywhere else against Torquay then that won’t be problem.”

Just keep doing what you're doing on Saturday against the Gulls and the faithful will be more than happy, though another goal would be nice!

Now the footy for a fiver promotion is over, how many will be back next weekend?: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk
