Tilson: 'They've won their last two games so will be full of confidence'

Blues boss Steve Tilson is looking to his team to take to the field against Carlisle Satuurday afternoon knowing that a win will see them right back in the fight to escape the dreaded drop zone.

Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "It's going to be a hard task for us from here but we have to keep on believing it's still possible. We have to keep plugging away and give it our all in all the games we have left. We haven't won for 11 games so it's going to be hard but while it's
mathematically still possible we will give it everything we've got."

When your finding it hard to find the back of the net though that task seems a very long way away!

Tilly continued: "We have to score more goals and hopefully thay can start against Carlisle. They have won their last two games so will be full of confidence but we're creating opportunities and just need to start putting them away."

Carlisle United manager Greg

Abbott: 'Southend still have some very good players'

Cumbrian boss Greg Abbott plans to put out his strongest team out at Roots Hall Wembley final or not in a week's time, and he wants a win to reach the magic mark of 50 points and as good as guaranteed safety from any talk of relegation.

Abbott talked to www.carlisleunited.co.uk: "Steve Tilson has done a superb job ever since he arrived at Southend but they're having a tough time of it at the moment. I have every sympathy for him and his situation at present but once the game starts that doesn't matter, we'll be looking to be ruthless and take advantage of any opportunities that come our way."

That last sentence should take away any doubt from travelling Cumbrians that their team will not be giving it 100% to get a positive result.

Abbott continued: "They may be down in the relegation zone but Southend still have some very good players and will be tough to beat. We have to approach the game professionally like we do any other game. Wembley doesn't even come into consideration at the moment. The players aren't thinking about it and neither am I."

Seeing as nobody is thinking about it, there's an awful lot of talking about it!

The proof will be after the game at around 17.50.
